With Nature | Green Initiatives in Kitzbühel
We place sustainability at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our values of environmental stewardship, community empowerment, and responsible travel experiences, our goal is to foster a culture of sustainable practices within our organisation. At the same time, we equip our guests with the knowledge and tools to demonstrate responsible behavior that meets the needs of our local community and environment.
Sustainability is a core value for Kitzbühel Tourismus - also in the use of natural materials. The Christmas trees from the Kitzbühel Advent were not simply disposed of after their use at various events, but consciously reused.
In the spirit of the circular economy, the trees were given a useful second life: they were donated to the Aurach Wildlife Park as a nutritious treat, where sheep, ibex and other wild animals can enjoy the fragrant greenery. This approach gives natural resources a new purpose and promotes an environmentally friendly way of utilising them. A great example of how the principles of the circular economy are actively practised in Kitzbühel!
20 local traditional businesses from Kitzbühel have joined forces to form the Meistergilde. The "Guild Seal" featuring the chamois stands for exceptional craftsmanship. The Meistergilde businesses also play an important role as employers and trainers of apprentices. They provide young people in and around Kitzbühel with the opportunity to learn and practice traditional crafts. In this way, knowledge is passed on and preserved in the region—an invaluable asset for the future. The jobs secured by the Meistergilde businesses provide stability and prosperity, forming the foundation for the continued healthy development of the town.
