Summer opera enjoyment in the open air in Kitzbühel - the Gamsstadt enchants

Kitzbühel Klassik returns to the Gamsstadt from July 3 to 6, 2024, delighting classical music fans with top-class performances.

In the atmospheric setting between the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn, up-and-coming international talent from the Vienna Volksoper Opera Studio and the finalists of the "ZukunftsStimmen" initiative will showcase their skills under the baton of renowned soprano Elīna Garanča. Immediately afterwards, Elīna Garanča shines on July 6 at the "Classical Music in the Alps" concert series with an open-air classical gala. 

Up-and-coming talents present a variety of opera and operetta works

Working with up-and-coming singers is very important to Elīna Garanča. As part of the "ZukunftsStimmen" initiative, the internationally acclaimed opera star offers young talents extensive support for the start of a successful career with coaching programs, master classes, performance opportunities and scholarships. "Kitzbühel Klassik" offers the finalists a special stage against a breathtaking backdrop.

This year's winner of "ZukunftsStimmen" is 27-year-old baritone Clemens Alexander Frank, who will perform with the well-known mezzo-soprano at Klassik in den Alpen on July 6, 2024. As part of Kitzbühel Klassik, those interested in classical music can attend three evenings from Wednesday, 3. On three evenings from Wednesday, July 3, 2024, as part of Kitzbühel Klassik, those interested in classical music can also listen to the best young singers of the "ZukunftsStimmen" competition, Annina Wachter, Laura Thaller, Tanja Elisa Glinsner and Clemens Seewald, as well as performances by the Vienna State Opera's opera studio with Kamila Dutkowska, Jaye Simmons (soprano), Aaron-Casey Gould, Stanislaw Napierala (tenor), Pablo Santa Cruz (bass-baritone) and Karo van der Sanden (piano). With the free admission concerts in Kitzbühel's Stadtpark, Kitzbühel is deliberately focusing on promoting young talent in the classical music industry.

Highlight concert by Elīna Garanča in honor of Giacomo Puccini and Maria Callas

The highlight of the festival is the open-air concert by Elīna Garanča on July 6, 2024 together with opera superstars Serena Sáenz and Iván Ayón Rivas. This year's program, put together by star conductor Karel Mark, pays special tribute to the works of Giacomo Puccini and the musical legacy of Maria Callas. In a special premiere, Garanča will perform the aria "O ma lyre immortelle" from Charles Gounod's opera "Sapho". The concert will take place in Pfarrau Park in Kitzbühel, close to the town center and easily accessible.
